How to Become a Trip Leader

Fill Out Trip Leader
Interest Form
First, we first require you to fill out an interest form so that we can verify your UMD affiliation and get an idea of what types of trips you want to lead. After you fill out the application, you will be contacted by the Safety & Compliance Officer so that they can schedule a meeting with you.

Meet with Safety & Compliance Officer
Second, you will meet with our Safety & Compliance Officer (presumably after our weekly meeting) to learn the process of leading a trip. In addition, you will gain access to all of TTC's trip leader resources so that you can get advice from previous trips and choose a location for your own trip!

Lead a Trip with an Approved Co-Leader
Finally, you will be asked to organize your own trip, following the directions provided in the Trip Leader resources. When you go on the trip, you will be required to be accompanied by an approved Trip Leader to ensure that everything goes smoothly. If it goes well, you will be approved!
